We have extensive design books in our archives from our modellers from the beginning of the last century. Each book contains hundreds of design drawings for classic shoes. At that time, there was almost as much variation and experimentation in the classic segment as there is now with sneakers. The bandwidth for variation was smaller, so more attention was paid to minimal details. With the emergence of the 'Floris van Bommel' brand, there was room for our 'Van Bommel' brand to return to the pure core of a classic collection. The curvature of the last, the size of the stitch on the sole edge, the degree of shine of the leather, the hand feel of the calf lining, minute differences make or break the shoe.
