Van Bommel 50022 Sella high-top lace-up shoe for men in dark blue. This derby boot is part of the classic Van Bommel collection. The rubber outsole is produced using a custom-made injection mold, eliminating the need for a leather sole edge. This makes the shoe more flexible than a regular dress boot and gives it a more casual look. The leather heel is beautifully finished with a dovetail joint in the tread. The insole has a soft foam layer on the bottom for extra comfort. The insole is not removable. The shoe features a high-quality black calfskin lining. A stud with the iconic copper-colored VB logo is embossed into the leather on the instep. This shoe is crafted from classic dark brown suede from a tannery in Castelfranco di Sotto, Pisa, Italy. The suede has a short-shorn fiber and a luxurious writing effect.

In our archives, we have thick design books from our modelers from the beginning of the last century. Each book contains hundreds of design drawings for classic shoes. In the classic segment at that time, there was almost as much variation and experimentation as there is now with sneakers. The range of variation was simply smaller, so more attention was paid to minimal details. With the rise of the 'Floris van Bommel' brand, there was room for our 'Van Bommel' brand to return to the pure core of a classic collection. Since then, we have been curating very critically and with a lot of love which styles do and do not fit within the classic 'Van Bommel'. Much more than with a pair of trendy sneakers, every detail is decisive. The curve of the last, the size of the stitching on the edge of the sole, the sheen of the leather, the feel of the calf lining—mindless differences make or break a shoe.
