Floris van Bommel De Sturdi SFM-50082 boot for men in H-width (wide) in the color black. This timeless winter derby boot is crafted from black printed leather. The treaded sole is made of flexible rubber and is practical for both indoor and outdoor use. The slim round last gives the shoe a youthful classic look on the foot. The interior of the boot is made from high-quality calf leather. On a dreary afternoon, Floris decorated the classic commando sole with small doodles and sketches, embossed into the rubber as a subtle relief.

“This is a great casual winter classic with a sturdy rubber treaded sole. The slim rounded last makes it a truly stylish and neat shoe, not a rugged, heavy boot. It’s a simple, classic model, and that’s exactly why a lot can go wrong during the design process. The smallest mistake throws the whole shoe off balance. So we really fine-tuned it. Once the boot was finished, I couldn’t resist giving it a bit of extra love. They love that. Makes them rest more comfortably in their box. I let my thoughts wander and added a few small scribbles to the sole’s classic commando tread. That tread pattern was created in the early 20th century by Vitale Bramani, founder of sole manufacturer Vibram. Over the years, we’ve played with that theme quite a bit. This time, it’s just some simple doodles that make it slightly different. I tried to keep it neat, but one of the little angels in the toe area probably shouldn’t have eaten beans beforehand…”
