Floris van Bommel De Krepper 40034 loafer for men in G+ width (regular) in the color Light Blue. This De Krepper loafer is made with a TR sole that has the appearance of a crepe sole. The sole is richly finished with a leather welt and a large Floris van Bommel logo on the tread. On the side, a light cognac-colored leather label is stitched on, featuring a laser-engraved logo in the shape of the letter F.
This slip-on shoe is designed without a lining; instead, thick, high-quality suede has been used. In terms of sturdiness, this unlined loafer is in no way inferior to a lined shoe, but the look is more refined. The light blue upper fits elegantly, feels extra supple, and has a summery, natural appearance. The shoe features a leather insole and a non-removable footbed made of nice thick, comfortable foam.

“We named this shoe ‘De Krepper’ because of the crepe look of the sole. So it’s not real crepe. Real crepe is a bit like your mother-in-law’s dentures: nice to look at, but not really pleasant to use yourself. Real crepe is natural rubber, and that makes it very vulnerable. The few times in the past that we used real crepe soles, those shoes came back to our factory like homing pigeons. Dried-out soles, cracked soles, rock-hard soles you couldn’t bend, soles with a white bloom, overly slippery soles, melted soles from sitting too close to a heater. The misery was endless. So: long live the ‘crepe look’ and long live all mothers-in-law with dentures!”
