This De Zaler sneaker features a sporty cup sole with the signature Floris van Bommel zigzag line under the forefoot. The interior is finished with premium leather lining and a removable footbed, which can be replaced with your own insole or orthopedic sole if desired. A rubber label with the Floris van Bommel logo is placed on the side, while the tongue features a label with a detailed drawing of the sneaker itself. The upper is made of a combination of suede on the forefoot and leather on the heel, giving the sneaker both an elegant and sporty appearance.

“In the design department, I work with two of the very best shoe designers. I stumbled into our family business about 25 years ago and started doing this job, while they made a very conscious decision from a young age to become shoe designers. They worked hard and with great focus to build a career in shoe design. The man I create the men's collection with is the biggest shoe nerd I know. Like a shoe robot, he knows every shoe style ever made and can even tell you what they were inspired by. The sole of this shoe is his take on a vintage indoor sports sole. He knows the entire history of this type of shoe, puts his own spin on it, and draws the cleanest original sneaker design. I could never do that. My strength is a bit more... low-key. I just try things based on gut feeling, without overthinking. The funny thing is, this sneaker brings our styles together. My colleague developed this style and added a curved sports line on the side as a signature. That shape actually comes from our own archive. I accidentally came up with it about 15 years ago while messing around with a sneaker we were developing. I didn’t like how it looked, cut off a piece, and glued it back slightly deformed using a glue stick. We ended up using that shape for years on our best sneakers. And now it’s back... Vintage Floris van Bommel!”
